yay or nay?

November 11, 2011

so we’ve discussed the possibility of wearing a traditional jhoomar on your wedding day, but what about a matha patti?  this polki and turquoise version on kanistha dhankar is super fab and eye-catching. this is what i love about matha pattis, they are quite unexpected and can look ah-mazing when carried off with the right amount of confidence.

as you can see, matha pattis are available in a plethora of styles – from beaded, to kundan, to one’s that cover half your head. and i gotta say, they all look pretty fab. i love the kundan version, especially the one sported by pria kataria puri with the turban,  it looks super chic with loose hair. and matha pattis seem to be a fave of western fashion lovers – isabel lucas wore one similar to pria’s at the met ball earlier this year and alexander mcqueen’s fall 2008 runway collection featured matha pattis
