What I Wore in Europe

June 3, 2018

I usually don’t do posts about my own personal fashion, weirdly enough, but a lot of girls asked me about the dresses/outfits I wore on my recent trip so I thought what better way to organize all the information than my very own blog, duh. My main objective for the vacation wardrobe was obviously comfort, but still polished. I lived in sneakers since there was so much walking involved and light jackets were an everyday staple given the unpredictable weather.

I have to apologize for the quality of photographs in advance, we were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn’t even use either one of our two professional cameras ONCE. All of the photos are quick iPhone shots and kind of fuzzy…but you get the gist. ALSO, you have probably already seen the majority of these on Instagram, but will get details here.

Puerto del Sol Madrid

For our first night in Madrid I brightened things up with this scarlet dress. I added a Topshop leather jacket which I got ages ago, but they still have similar styles – especially this one.  Fun fact, the dress is actually the work of my tailor in Lahore. I showed him a picture of a dress and he customized it to my liking (adding sleeves, added length) perfectly. If you don’t have the luxury of a darzi, you can find options here & here. The bag is my trusty Balenciaga (an anniversary gift!) and sneakers are Gucci Ace.

Here’s a closer look at the dress

So you know I had to inject some leopard print into this trip, otherwise it wouldn’t be me. This PERFECT maxi dress is my a local GCC chain called RIVA. I really like their stuff, it’s always super comfortable. I can’t find this dress on their website, but you can find some options here & here. The beat up sneakers are my Adidas Superstars which I have had for about 5 years and they get more and more comfy with every wear.

Excuse the derpy photo but I thought this image showcased the dress pretty well. This floral dress is from Boohoo, I ordered this via ASOS in October so it is no longer available but there are loads of similar options. I think I wore this dress the most on the trip, it is so comfortable, comes with an attached slip and is super flattering. I found some similar looking styles: here, here, here

I actually picked up this fun little floral number from Zara in Barcelona. It’s still online and in stores -> here. I wore this on a long warm day exploring Paris and it was the perfect choice – breathable cotton and loose fitting – paired with Nike Cortez and a Bimba Y Lola bag (also from Barcelona) The denim jacket is also Zara and stolen from my husband.

Another look.

You’ve probably seen this on my Instagram. This checkered dress is also from Zara, and still online. Guys I love this dress, it’s a heavy weight fabric so I didn’t need to add a jacket and it just fell right and was flattering. I am definitely taking this to my darzi and having it made in every color.

Park Guell

This is another dress that I have had since October; it’s from the ASOS White label. I looove the shape of this dress and I love white dresses in general. The only reason I took so long to wear this was because I couldn’t find a slip that worked well. I paired the with a leopard denim jacket that I found at ZARA Man in Istanbul last year (so random), and red lips of course. This dress is not online anymore but here is a similar one, and here is a similar jacket

Don’t you just love the tourist shot of me haha. This lovely green dress is also the work of my darzi. I have this dress is about 3 colors. I live in them in Dubai’s heat. I threw on a denim jacket, this one from Zara, to make it look not so boring. Sunglasses are Saint Laurent.

Fun fact: I am actually wearing a Sana Safinaz muzlin top that I tucked into a midi skirt. I have had the shirt since last season and haven’t been able to wear it in Dubai. I loved the color combo so much that I had to make it work. Also, I will be forever pissed off that there are about a million things in my hand in this shot.

This is when I started running out of clothes. I stole my husband’s sweatshirt and paired it with my favorite skirt and wondered why I hadn’t done this before. A bright, raffia bag and sneaks made this the perfect strolling-through-Paris look.  My skirt is linen and from ASOS, obviously sold out but I got options for ya: here, here. And here is a similar sweatshirt

Guys, I did not know  that Monki had a stand alone store. I have loved the brand for years on ASOS so when I stumbled upon the store in Paris I got my shop on. The skirt is from there (found it online) and the tee is a basic 2 Euro score from Primark.

Phew that was long.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey girl! Thanks so much. I used khaadi and linen. I think I will get a lot more more made using georgette and cotton since they are so flattering.
