bonjour mes cheries.
so tell me, how do you wind up a day of gallivanting through paris and attending high-end couture fashion shows with some of the most fabulous people in the world? why, you throw
a dinner party of course. the valentino garavani archives dinner party was held at versailles last week and had some of the hottest ladies in the world attending.
and everyone (almost everyone) looked faaaaabulous – as you can tell from the picture up there. love.
most of the dresses are the same, from the s/s 2010 collection and they adhere to the trademark valentino aesthetic (long, chiffon-y, ruffle-y) but they all look fanfreakintastic.
blake wears a very flattering (is there such a thing as unflattering when it comes to blake?) cocktail dress with a ruffled hem, sticking to her ‘i look like i should be at a beach’ look. anna wears the usual.
jessica alba also opts for a red number, this one mixes things up with a nude organza underlay. i think she looks gorgeous, the color is heavenly on her.
the ever-gorgeous elizabeth hurley wears a sheer gown with bow details on the bodice. i love this shade of lilac, it is absolutely delish.
sista got a greasy face going on here. i am on the fence about this gown. the detailing is stunning but i hate the mesh on the neck AND the assymetrical ruffle up there, just one thing would have been fine. but i also think the dress is not the major problem here, gwen’s face is.
the real upper east side princess, olivia palermo, wears a waterprinted black and white sheer dress. it is an interesting shape, especially the sculpted overlay on the shoulders. i think if she had better posture we all would be uber impressed.
hands down, my favorite of the night.
i love love loooooooove the mixture of colors here. it is just perfection. claire danes emerges the winner of the night.
dree hemingway wore a variation of this dress at cannes and since then it has been my absolute fave valentino look EVER.
