during the venice film festival, kasia smutniak declared her love of valentino – through dresses, of course.
the polish actress, who was also the hostess of the film festival, stunned in three valentino looks. i cannot decide which one is my favorite.
:: venice film festival photocall ::
kasia looked like she was starring in an editorial at the photocall for the vff. she looked flawless in a floral valentino resort 2013 gown. i love the transparent feel of the dress and the almost watercolor-like print. the peach and pink are perfectly feminine. this dress can easily venture off into ‘matronly’ territory with its stark white collar/cuffs, long sleeves and full skirt but kasia makes it look relevant and fresh. she is totally giving me a keira vibe here.
:: venice film festival dinner ::
kasia’s second valentino look of the festival is at the vff dinner. here she opts for a black dress with folklore inspired embroidery from the fall 2012 collection. i love the clean lines on kasia, the dress is perfect on her. i especially love the air of nonchalance that her slightly messy chignon adds to the mix. kasia’s style seems to be really minimal: no accessories, jewels or fancy hair to get in the way.
:: venice film festival closing ceremony ::
for her final valentino look, kasia chose another resort 2013 look. neutrals work amazingly well on her, don’t you think? her gown has pastel floral embroidery with a bow accent on the waist. this dress has a very fairy-gypsy vibe. i love it. i think it takes a certain kind of person to really do justice to the elegance of such valentino gowns, and kasia is one of those people (keira is another). she embodies grace in this look. the braided headband is a good touch.
