I’ve always found Kristen Stewart’s red carpet demeanor to be super annoying – the bad posture, the untamed hair, the dead behind the eyes stare – but she seems to have worked through her issues. Or at least it seemed that way during the promotional events for the last installment (THANK THE LORD) of the Twilight series. There were some great looks, some meh looks and some controversial ones…let us begin.
:: Los Angeles Premiere ::
For her big world premiere, Kristen went for a nude Zuhair Murad dress. She’s been getting a lot of flack for this gown all over the blogosphere, and with good reason. The dress itself, from Murad’s Fall 2012 collection, is gorgeous. The sheer dress with a corseted bodice and alternate lace panels is flowy, romantic and totally feminine – 3 things we do not associate with K-Stew. My only concern with this dress is how sheer the skirt is, given the occasion I think the skirt should have been lined…or not completely see-through. With that said, the dress is a stunning one. The color is amazing on her, her glossy retro waves and dark lips are perfect. Beautywise this is the most glamorous look I have ever seen on Kristen.
:: London Premiere ::
Kristen once again opted for a sheer Zuhair Murad number for her London premiere, however this look is a complete 180 from her previous one. She wears this risque couture jumpsuit with incredible ease and confidence. She is literally strutting her shit all over town. But once again, given the occasion (by that I mean the Twilight premiere where the fanbase is predominantly pre-teens and teens) she should have chosen something a wee more covered up. There is no denying the gorgeousness of the jumpsuit – with its intricate embroidery, lace applique and sequin embellishment. Louboutin Pigalles, a glowing face and messy hair complete this look. I think a slicked back hairstyle might have made this look classier and more elegant. Thoughts?
:: Berlin Premiere ::
Kristen turned to sequins again for the Berlin premiere of Breaking Dawn. She wears a gold, sequinned Elie Saab Fall 2012 gown with a cowl neck and a thigh-high split. As eye-catching as this gown is, the look just falls a little flat for me, especially when compared to her Zuhair Murad looks. And I am pretty sure that’s all down to the hair and makeup. I would have loved some glammed up makeup with this gown – perhaps a smoky eye or a red lip? I also feel the the gown is making her look a bit stocky…which is strange considering she has a gorgeous figure. I think a belt would have worked wonders in terms of adding definition. This has to be my least fave premiere look because it is the least memorable.
:: Madrid Premiere ::
I guess it’s no surprise that I LOVE this look. Kristen plays down the glamour and opts for youthfulness with this neon yellow Dior minidress. Her bright dress has cap sleeves and a short, flared skirt which is slightly longer in the back. I love this color and silhouette, it’s so much fun. She pairs the gorgeous dress up with printed pumps by Barbara Bui, which for some reason lend a very retro 50s vibe to the entire look. A simple braid completes the look. A lot of critics dismissed this look as being too casual for a big movie premiere but for me it works really well – a much needed step away from the glamazon looks.
