well, omar farooq is definitely doing something no one in pakistan seems to be focusing on – creating spectacularly cut clothes for our menfolk…yes yes those neglected species we seem to kick aside every fashion week, is it no surprising that there are not more designers out there catering to their needs? omar farooq is single-handedly taking care of the issue with his brand, republic.
the 2012 pret collection, tears for fears, takes inspiration from the street style of world war 2 era, with many vintage touches and a chic steamlined aesthetic focusing on layering. the collection stuck to darker palette, with blacks and grays being dominant. i for one am ecstatic about the availability of such great menswear in our backyards, and i am also glad pfdc is giving this talented designer a chance to show at their fashion weeks. and hello? who knew we had such a plethora of hot male models?
