When I was younger, my fascination with Barbies knew no end – especially the super glam versions of the doll with sparkling evening gowns and mini-stilettos. As I grew older, my focus shifted but the fascination remained. I was super excited when Moschino sent their bubble-gum pink Barbie drenched collection stomping down the runway, and I almost fell over and had an aneurysm when I saw the latest editorial in the December issue of Vogue Paris.
Supermodels Elisabeth Erm and Magdelena Frackowiak are transformed into glamorous high-fashion dolls surrounded by accessories, footwear, jewellery and beauty products by the world’s best brands including Dior, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. The “dolls” wear some of the most iconic pieces from the brands’ latest collections, including the Armani hats, Dolce and Gabbana polka dots and Ralph Lauren’s liquid gold Ricky bags. The Armani doll is my favourite, the image and style is KILLING it, especially when compared with runway images from the same collection.
