last month while attending pfdc fashion week, catwalk queen frieha altaf was spotted in looks even before they were showcased on the runway. frieha has cemented her status as a fashion icon in the country, with good reason. she takes risks and is often very bold with her choices. i say, you go girl
freiha wears this black and white geometrically printed robe dress which is belted at the waist. the dress is from the 2012 khaadi khaas collection. i think frieha looks fabulous here. i love the sidebraid and the pop of orange with the bag. it is always a great idea to add some fun to a black and white look with an interesting, contrasting accessory. i think the necklace could have been given a miss – it is not really required here.

the second off the runway look was no so fabulous. frieha wore a design by newbie irfan ali. the look is very bedouin – bohemian, but it ain’t workin. while the same dress looks chic on the statuesque iraj on the runway, it is drowning frieha. i’m pretty sure it’s the sleeves – she should have taken them in a bit. i always have the same issue, since i am a mere 5’3 whenever i want to wear something bohemian-y with supa-big sleeves i end up looking like a midget. o woe. the hair should have been up, how cool would a topknot look? or she could have gone all out and thrown on a turban
