christy turlington, natalia vodianova and karen elson – three of the most beautiful women in the world.
the three supermodels were chosen by that clever little man marc jacobs for louis vuitton’s fall 2010 campaign. echoing the same theme from his runway show in paris earlier this year, the campaign features the models in fifties-era glamour.
i gotta say, christy turlington is probably my favorite model of all time. she is so freakingly gorgeous, it makes me want to kill myself.
the campaign was shot by LV fave, veteran fashion photog steven meisel who has done a fabulous job of making the clothes look so much more beautiful in print than they did on the runway. and the bags! such a vast improvement from previous seasons (i.e. the stephen sprouse catastrophes and this) i am absolutely in love with the new alligator line.
les extraodinaires monogram guipure is a variation of the classic speedy design which brings together uber-luxurious alligator hide with other materials such as decadent monogrammed lace, duchess satin and glittery sequins. and these bags are not for everyday paupers like you and i, they run up to a cool $28,000
this little beauty is the speedy couture, fashioned entirely out of alligator hide, this bag is a flattened version of the classic speedy shape. i think this bag is totally worth the $27,300 price tag. don’t you?
there are cheaper bags of course
this is the carrousel – the classic monogram with a leather flap and sequined embellishment. it’s a measly $3000. there’s a speedy and evening bag version of the same design.
and of course the minimalist cuir cinema
a perfectly simple bag made out of grained calf skin, it costs about $4500
i have absolutely no idea when, or if ever, these will be available in pakistan. its not like i could afford them if they were. so happy ogling!
