‘inception’ premieres: marion cotillard

July 18, 2010

‘inception’ is getting all sorts of rave reviews, apparently it’s even more visually intriguing than ‘avatar’ (ew). but enough about that.

obviously this movie is going to be aesthetically pleasing…it stars marion cotillard and leonardo dicaprio. obvi.  the film had its three global premieres last week in paris, london and los angeles and the leading lady chose distinctive looks for all three days. let’s have a look

::london::

for the london premiere marion wore a printed thakoon number from the pre-fall 2010 collection. can i be honest? this looks like one of those little kaftan tops my darzi in liberty whips without batting an eyelash. it is ridiculous that a fashion maven like marion chose to wear this to a premiere of a movie in which she STARS and not only that but on a red carpet where she has to pose with the likes of leofreakinardo dicaprio. what was she thinking???

her make-up needs a kick and that necklace is soooo out of place, it is killing me. i wish she had chosen something better for the first premiere. even something marginally better. this is more suitable for a date with your girlfriends on a lazy summer day than a high-profile event.

::paris::

i loooove this look. at the paris premiere of the film, marion is back in her element. and by her element i mean dior. marion is wearing a gray dress from the 2010 resort collection with nude jimmy choo heels. this dress is so perfect for her – she always looks the best when she chooses pieces which are eclectic and kitschy. i love the rosy lace overlay, it’s calling out to my current lace fetish. the tulip skirt and the bow detail on the waist create the illusion of a teeny tiny waist; this is so so flattering.

i think the pompadour hair compliments the dress perfectly. just the right amount of funk and the make-up is such a vast improvement from the previous event.

::los angeles::

perfection perfection. i have seen few dresses fit someone so well as this one does marion. she is wearing a navy blue jacquard shift by l’wren scott. she looks absolutely stunning.

marion’s face is divine. she is definitely one of the most beautiful women i have seen in my long years. she looks the best at this premiere, in my opinion. everything is so clean and pristine.
