let’s take a minute and talk about asmaa mumtaz should we?
stylist, makeup artist, painter and now businesswoman – this fashionista extraordinaire can do it all, and look fabulous while doing so.
asmaa started off as a painter then ventured into styling. she has steadily made her name as one of the most recognisable faces in the pakistani industry – bringing panache to whatever she does. her salon, the dresser, is the place to go for yummy organic treatments and a cool urbane environment. but what i really love about her is that funky, colorful, bold sense of style. for the most part, asmaa’s aesthetic focuses on high-impact, statement accessories – whether its chunky necklaces or stacked bangles. her hair and makeup are always impeccable (obvi). aside from that, she is a sweetheart. and believe me, as someone who comes across these fashion types all the time – that is saying a lot.
i loved her looks from the recent fashion week, and asked her to dissect them for me.
the look: a feminine emerald green dress is offset with tough black accessories.

the look: classic black and white given some personality with pops of neon. a ruffled shirt and pleated black trousers with a scarf used as a belt – how parisian. i love the shots of hot pink in the nails, the lips and the clutch. oversized accessories finish off the look.
silk top: all saints, satin trousers: mango, printed scarf belt: her mother’s, multicoloured necklace: topshop, wooden Bangles: colaba causeway-bombay, black suede sandals –zara barcelona
the look: the trend of the season – wide legged trousers accented with shades of tan and gold. the different textures – leather, suede and metal – really emphasize the warmth of this look.
