desi bride: tooba siddiqui

February 1, 2012

pakistani supermodel tooba siddiqui tied the knot a few months back, i know, i am ridiculously late with this-as i am with most things – but i guess everyone just has to deal right? right. :/

ok so anyways, i always think it must be so difficult for desi models/actresses to look different on their weddings, considering doing bridal shoots is an integral part of any and all model’s/actress’ career. i think this is the reason some of them go so overboard that all you can say is yikes. so it was refreshing to see tooba, who looked fantabulous on her wedding, and kept it simple.

i’m really confused because i think these are both wedding pictures, but i don’t know if they’re from barat/valima, nikah/reception etc/etc.

i love a desi bride in white.

tooba looks fresh-faced and divine in this ivory lehnga with mint and peach trimmings. it’s a pastel dream, isn’t it. the ensemble, by nomi ansari, has the perfect amount of embellishment – not too much and not too little. her diamond polki set compliments the outfit perfectly. what i love most about this entire look is how simple her hair is, it seems to be just pulled back into a simple chignon, loving the winged eye-liner as well.  the entire look is very crisp and gives off a laid-back feel. who wouldn’t want to give off this vibe on their wedding? i sure as hell would. but good luck with that.

for her second getup tooba goes for a completely opposite, much more glamorous look. she wears a beautiful, heavily embellished red and green bridal sari by nomi ansari. this look is actually really traditional, in terms of color and embellishment. she gives it a modern twist with dramatic jewelry and makeup. i personally think she rocks both looks. absolutely stunning.

she defo makes one of the best celeb brides i have seen in pakistan. thoughts?
