Decor Chat: Victoria Grayson’s Chair

March 24, 2013

I’m sure everyone and their mom watches Revenge by now. If you don’t, you’re missing out. Unless you have a life and don’t actually have time to watch TV. In that case, I salute you.

ANYWHO. I love the show, the ambiance, the houses and the wardrobes. But seriously  I have a borderline obsession with Queen Victoria’s throne.

Revenge Victoria Grayson I love it so much. Ever since I saw Victoria perched up on this gigantor armchair upholstered in calligraphy/handwritten fabric I have been dying to get one. Plus point?? A chair like this will fit perfectly with the theme in my bedroom. I have been on a mission to find something similar and I have spotted a gorgeous armchair and console at Marina Furniture in Dubai which might do the trick.

I did a little research and found that the Revenge chair is upholstered in this beautiful fabric by Ballard Designs. I suggest you check out Lacefield Designs for even more options.

PS there is so much you can do with this scripted cloth, I went on a rampage on Pinterest and found so many great ideas.

I bought a piece of material, gold, black & silver permanent markers & had my daughters friends, family etc sign it. I suggest you have a photo of a chair so the people signing do not think you are completely bonkers.
I presented it to her with a couple of photos of beautiful designer lounge chairs/chaises so she could get an idea of what I had in mind when I started this project 6 months previously. I understand that there was no temp-plate of a design to work out where you sign, but I am sure when the times comes & the chair is made up it will bring so much joy every time she sits in it.
I imagine her sitting in it feeding her baby, nursing her grand children & reading it as she gets older to remind her of her loved ones
