The first Times of India Awards were held in Vancouver last night. Seriously though, I feel like there are about a million awards shows every year, I cannot keep track of them anymore. The only reason I even knew about this one was because my SiL attended and kept gushing about the beauty of Katrina Kaif and the hotness of Ranbir Kapoor. Obvi.
As all awards shows, there were some hits (verrrryyyyy few) and some misses (very tragic). My favorite is going to be no surprise, it’s Neha Dhupia in Sabyasachi. I’m so predictable right?
Neha is perhaps the best dressed Bollywoodista out there. What she lacks in acting skills, she makes up for with her style. Here she wears an embroidered Sabyasachi lehnga with an embellished neckline and some military elements in the form of the shoulder detail and the belt. She pairs the ensemble up with a gorgeous clutch and Amrapali earrings. Flawless hair and makeup as usual.
I’m as surprised as you are to be featuring Piggy Chops in a best dressed list. I can’t remember a look of hers from recent times, especially at awards shows, that has made me go wow. That’s why I was so happy to see her looking SO pretty. Priyanka wears an embroidered body-skimming Arpan Vohra gown. The reason I love this look on her is because it balances her out so well, she is absolutely tiny and almost looks like a straight line. But the halter neck and empire waist detailing balances out her shoulders and waist. A Vuitton clutch and sideswept hair completes this look.
I don’t know who Ranbir Kapoor is wearing but is he not totally giving off a Ryan Gosling-swagger? I’m so obsessed. I’m guessing this suit is a Tom Ford or Gucci. Would love it if anyone could confirm. He looks completely suave and sophisticated, with that stubble added some sexiness. So much alliteration in that sentence.
Nargis Fakhri plays up to the bombshell title wearing this sequined Komal Sood gown with a bustier and thigh-high split. I mean, the entire dress is sequined I was bound to love this look. Hot pink lips (another fave of mine) and tumbling curls complete her look. I would have loved to see a high, Versace-esque ponytail here but you can’t win em all.
