the white fairy tale love ball, held in the chateau de wideville in crespieres, france last week, was a charity event hosted by supermodel natalia v. to benefit her charity the naked heart foundation. white was the theme of the ball, and while the hostess of the ball opted for a dramatic red valentino gown, there were many beauties wearing some seriously gorgeous white dresses. here are my best dressed
:: olivia palermo ::
olivia opted for a more metallic spin on white. her shimmery. intricately embellished gown is from valentino’s spring 2009 couture collection. the dress has beading down the length of it, making olivia seem taller and slimmer than she is. i have 2 qualms about this look: the hair and the bust. the hair, which i usually am obsessed with, is overwhelming on this occasion; i feel she should have brushed it back or even tied it up. it is just not working me. and the bust…well let’s just say she isn’t well-endowed enough to be wearing a bust like that. loving the statement necklace and the feather clutch – perfect accessorizing as always.
:: anna dello russo ::
the influential editor of vogue nipon donned a gorgeous roberto cavalli gown. the dress has amazing pleated detailing and flares out to a ruffled, layered mermaid hem. i love the crazy ass rose thing on her head – only she could wear that and still look fashionable. the necklace, however, is unfortunate. it isn’t doing anything for the outfit. all in all, beautiful dress – some chicita looking to get married in the next few months should keep this dress in mind
:: anne hathaway ::
anne hathaway seems to have taken the “fairy tale” bit most seriously. and i’m glad she did. she is a vision in this ethereal valentino couture gown from the spring 2006 collection. i absolutely love this dress. it is exquisite. i love her hair, i love the garland. she looks straight out of a disney movie. gorgeous. the make-up is a bit harsh but it doesn’t take away anything from the dress, so i’ll let it slide.
