Beautify: Natasha Khalid’s Must Haves

March 3, 2013

Natasha Khalid of Natasha's Salon in Karachi So by now everyone knows that Natasha Khalid is my favorite makeup artist/stylist from Pakistan. She is innovative, young and fresh…not to mention undeniably talented. Not only do I love her editorial and bridal work, but I loved the magic that she managed to weave on my face a few months ago. Seriously, where was she when I was getting married???

Not only is Natasha super successful (her salon, Natasha’s, is always booked) and super talented, she is also totally gorgeous (can you spot an inkling of her grandmother’s famous looks?).

So I thought, who better to get makeup advice from? Natasha shares her makeup must-haves with you lovelies. Let’s have a look at what products Natasha believes should be in everybody’s makeup collection and why (in her own words!)

Natasha Khalid makeup

Primers: 1.Makeup Forever, 2. Smashbox Primers, 3. MAC Prep and Prime: Coverage: 1. Estee Lauder BB Cream, 2. Bobbi Brown BB Cream, 3. Laura Mercier: Blush: 1. NARS Orgasm, 2. Chanel Tweed

“Your makeup regime should always start with a great skin primer, yes girls they actually work! My recommendations, MAC’s Prep and Prime, Smashbox Primers ( they have a whole range for every type of skin they’re amazing) and Makeup Forever’s High Definition Primer. I’m a big believer in skin glowing with sheer foundation application hence I love tinted moisturizers  Laura Mercier does the most fantastic one , plus I’m loving Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder’s BB creams – this is a fantastic product that acts as a moisturizer, tinted moisturizer plus a gazillion other skin benefiting products all rolled into one.

A great blush is essential. With or without makeup a little bit of blush goes a long way to making one look instantly fresh. My favorites are NARS cult favorite blush “Orgasm” (this is what I wear personally everyday), Chanel’s Tweed Blushers (there’s a whole range), NARS Orgasm multiple stick is great as well for a creamy blush”

1. L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara, 2. Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, 3. Shu Uemura eyelash curler, 4. Illamasqua eyeliner

“A great mascara is the finishing touch and right now my ultimate pick is L’Oreal’s Telescopic , hands down one of the best mascaras in the market. None of us are born with perfectly curled lashes and for anyone who complains about mascara doing nothing for their lashes I highly recommend trying eyelash curlers. I’ve literally had girls fall off the chair when I’ve used it on their lashes for the first time. My pick are the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers! They can curl the straightest lashes! Last but not the least a good eyeliner and eye pencil. Illasmasqua’s black eyeliner has great intensity and does not budge and I love Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in Black Ink to line the waterline with as once you apply it it doesn’t budge!”

1. Tom Ford lipstick, 2. MAC lipstick, 3. Illmasqua lipstick

“For lips I recommend lipcolors by Tom Ford, Illamasqua and MAC….. the best range of colors, the strongest pigments and the best color payoff”

Are any of these products in your makeup bag? Would love your feedback on Natasha’s picks and what you think should be on the list!
