Aishwarya Rai made an interesting appearance at the ‘1oo Years of Indian Cinema Gala’ at Cannes last night and although I have read mixed reviews of this look on the blogosphere, it is one I am tilting towards. Probably because it is over the top and I am all about that.
Ash wears a black and gold sari by Sabyasachi. She has had a major flawless Sabyasachi moment at Cannes before – see here. So I was glad to see her sticking to the designer once again. When I saw this picture, I instantly thought DOLCE AND GABBANA. I have to say, while the influence is blindingly obvious, I do love the Indian twist on things.
The baroque sari itself is quite heavy considering the season, perhaps another color might have done better…The hair and makeup is magnificent. I read a lot of comments attacking the blouse, the embellishment, the headband but I think Ash manages to pull this off flawlessly. If you guys read my blog regularly you know I am extra hard on Aishwarya so me saying that means A LOT. Also, this is such a step up from last year’s Abu Sandeep disaster
So what;s the verdict? Am I the only one who loves this look? Is this early
morning afternoon fatigue speaking? Or does she really look fab?
